Please note: Competitors may only enter one class plus pairs (BRC Rule). Starters may not enter pairs. No fixed peak hats to be worn on the Cross Country and Medical Armbands MUST be worn. Course will be 'open flagged', i.e. if you wish to jump the larger fences, providing you are between the red and white flags, you will not incur any penalties.

Qualifiers for the Horseware National Hunter Trial Championships - Eland Lodge.

Class 1A - Junior Intermediate (am) Eland Lodge Qualifier 90
Riders not to have attained 18th birthday on 1st January in the current year.
Combination not to have represented a Riding Club or Pony Club at Intermediate or Open Cross Country/Horse Trials and not to have completed at BE Horse Trials at a level greater than BE90.
Approximately 90cm-1m in height.

Class 1B - Senior Intermediate (am) Eland Lodge Qualifier 90
Riders 18 and over on 1st January in the current year. Combination and heights as for Class 1A.

Class 2A - Junior OPEN Intermediate (am) Eland Lodge Qualifier 90
Riders not to have attained 18th birthday on 1st January in the current year. This class is aimed at Riders not eligible for Class 1A but still wishing to compete at that level.

Class 2B - Senior OPEN Intermediate (am) Eland Lodge Qualifier 90
Riders 18 and over on 1st January in the current year. Rules as Class 2A.

Class 3 - Pairs (am) - Juniors & Seniors may compete together. Eland Lodge Qualifier 80
Competitors in this class may only compete in Novice, Intermediate or Open classes as well. May not compete in Pairs Starters Class 6 as a combination. May not enter Starters classes 7A or 7B. Approximately 75cm-85cm in height.

This class will be held over the Novice course. There will be a 'dressing' fence ie Pairs will jump the dressing fence side by side (no penalties) - the distance between the Pairs will incur penalties (5, 10 or 20 if the pair is not together). Contact cross country secretary for further information.

Class 4A Junior Novice Eland Lodge Qualifier 80
Riders not to have attained 18th birthday on 1st January in the current year. Combination not to have been placed in any Cross Country/Horse Trials competition other than Novice or Starters and not to have won a Novice competition. Combination not to have represented and completed a Riding Club or Pony Club at Cross Country/Horse Trials and not to have completed a BE Horse Trials at a level greater than BE80. Approximately 75cm-85cm in height.

Class 4B - Senior Novice Eland Lodge Qualifier 80
Riders 18 and over on 1st January in the current year. Combination and heights as for Class 4A.

Class 5A - Junior OPEN Novice Eland Lodge Qualifier 80
Riders not to have attained 18th birthday on 1st January in the current year. This class is aimed at Riders not eligible for Class 4A but still wishing to compete at that level.

Class 5B - Senior OPEN Novice Eland Lodge Qualifier 80
Riders 18 and over on 1st January in the current year. Rules as Class 5A.

The rider's style in Classes 4A, 4B, 5A and 5B at the April Cross Country will be judged and a trophy will be awarded to the highest placed, if a member of W.R.C.

Class 6 - Pairs (Starters). Juniors and Seniors may compete together. This class is aimed at getting the Starters, who may not be confident to compete on their own, round the course. The lead rider may compete in any other class, maximum two classes, the second rider only in the Starters. No dressing fence. Approximately 60cm-70cm in height.

Class 7A - Junior Starters
Riders not to have attained 18th birthday on 1st January in the current year. Combination not to have been placed in any Cross Country/Horse Trials competition. Combination not to have represented a Riding Club or Pony Club at Cross Country or Horse Trials and not to have competed at BE in any class. Approximately 60cm-70cm in height.

Class 7B - Senior Starters
Riders 18 and over on 1st January in the current year. Combination and heights as for Class 7A.

Class 8A - Junior OPEN Starters
Riders not to have attained 18th birthday on 1st January in the current year. This class is aimed at Riders not eligible for Class 5A, but still wish to compete at that level. As this is a late change to the Schedule there will be no trophy for this class this year.

Class 8B - Senior OPEN Starters
Riders 18 and over on 1st January in the current year. Combination as for Class 5A. As this is a late change to the Schedule there will be no trophy for this class this year.

Entry fee is £15 for members and £25 for non-members. Class 3 & 6 Pairs: £20 if both members and if one member/one non-member, £30 if both non-members.


Cheques payable to Wilmslow Riding Club.

Entries close Wednesday prior to the event. There will be an additional entry fee of £5 for entries received after the closing date. An administration charge of £5 may be deducted from refunds/alterations after the closing date (at the discretion of the secretary). Times will be available on Friday night, prior to the event, on Horse Monkey or on our website. Alternatively please call 01565 723976 between 7pm-9pm. The course will be available to walk from 2pm on the Saturday before the event.

Number of fences, length of course and optimum times for all classes will be on display on the day. No stopwatches allowed.

There will be a £10.00 deposit for use of our bib and number, refundable when bib returned.  If you wish to use your own bib please note that you will have to provide your own number also - printed in bold, large type on A4 size paper.  We do not supply separate numbers so you will have to present your own bib and number to the entries secretary for perusal when declaring, prior to starting the competition.   This is to ensure the number can be read when you are on the course. Could we also ask that you contain your hair within a hairnet/bun placed just below your helmet, so that it does not obscure the number on the back of your bib.
