At W.R.C. we like to think we are a friendly bunch of people, who just want to have fun with our horses and other horsey people who understand our obsession with being cold, wet, dirty, poor and shabbily dressed, but who have warm, dry, clean and immaculately dressed horses.

Allow me to introduce W.R.C. to you. We have been in existence since 1959, beginning as a small club, putting on shows for a group of like-minded people who wanted to get together and compete against each other. "What has changed?" you may ask yourself. Well to be honest, not a lot. We still have shows for the like-minded people who want to compete but we have grown and provide an awful lot more as well.

W.R.C. has around 200 members. This seems to be split fairly evenly between juniors and seniors. Many of the senior members began as juniors, and once Wilmslow Riding Club has you in its grasp, it is very difficult to leave! Members come from a large area of the North-West. People are prepared to travel from as far afield as Oldham, the Wirral, north Wales and Stoke on Trent for the facilities and training that we provide. Our club field is in Ashley near Knutsford in Cheshire and gives us an excellent venue for both shows (with seven large rings on the go all day) and for our own cross-country course. You may be wondering where on earth Ashley is. Well, if you look just south of Manchester for the M56 and the area underneath the flight path for Manchester Airport, you will find us. Don't worry about the planes. None of the horses seems to be worried about them and even the take off of Concorde caused no disruption (and what a superb sight it was)! So what else do the members get? Training and lots of it. We provide training in most disciplines and if we don't, ask and we will try to arrange it. We are very lucky in having many highly skilled and experienced trainers in the area as well as a number of excellent venues at which to hold the clinics.
